FromTheVoid Devlog #2


Hello again!

I have been hard at work to bring FromTheVoid into reality. This time around I have a few more visual changes to showcase.

Now when you select a friendly unit, The Name, current Health, and current Action Points are displayed on that top bar. I will also be adding a spot to display Ultimate Points, which will be used to activate a unit's ultimate move!


When you select an attack, the world goes dark and each attackable enemy gets a green light indicating they are within range.  Buttons displaying Cancel and Confirm are also displayed which obviously will cancel, or confirm and execute, the attack.


This post was rather short because a lot of the changes are backend and while the current visual changes look cool, they aren't a big leap for the game itself. I have been doing some setup for the moves and actions though, as they have a base class. I will be creating them as ScritpableObjects so they can easily be altered for each unit as I see fit, and that includes animations. Now what comes next? I will be attaching moves to each unit. These moves will correctly display as buttons inside the UI, Spend ActionPoints, and Damage an enemy.
